Sometimes it takes awhile, but eventually you learn a lot. Now on my third book, I’ve had to do research in many different areas. Looking over the internet is like being part of a classroom that you don’t really know the end of. First off let me just say thanks to all those other writers who have already suffered through these troubles and as a result have helped me get my foot in the door. I think Caitlin Muir said it best, “It’s not about you, it’s about them.”
Isn’t that the truth! If you want to get anywhere with promotion, that’s exactly how you have to look at the bigger picture. What do you have to offer people? How can you help them? What do you have to say? People are always desperate to learn, and generally they don’t care where they find the information they are looking for- as long as it’s legit. You want people’s interest in your site to grow? Give them a good reason to go there. Start up a reader friendly blog similar to this one. Take advantage of social media. Do you have a Facebook account or a Twitter account? If not, don’t just get one- use them. Keep the pages updated every once in awhile. Use an SEO optimizing plugin like WordPress SEO by Yoast. These are just a few tips. I will have more to come. For now, give it a start, you will be surprised how much improvement you see. Best of luck!
